The Terrain crossover is one of GM’s hottest vehicles and now the American automaker will be expanding its small GMC crossover lineup to include a high-grade Denali trim level.

The Terrain Denali will be introduced this year as a 2013 model after sales rose 37-percent last year to 83,179. It was the biggest rise out of all seven GMC models. Up until the 2011 model year vehicles came out, the Denali line consisted of the GMC Yukon SUV, Sierra 1500 light-duty pickup, and the Envoy SUV (phased out in 2009). But in the 2011 model year, GM added a Denali version of the GMC Acadia full-sized crossover and Sierra 2500 and 3500 heavy-duty pickups.

Last year the Denali line of vehicles had a 79-percent increase in sales with GMC experiencing a 19-percent increase in growth overall. Denali vehicles accounted for 15-percent of all GMC vehicle sales.
