Infiniti has had quite the success with its G-series . The G35 coupe was a huge hit when it first came out on the market, and its G37 successor in both coupe and sedan form have well received. So it’s really no surprise that the Japanese automaker looks to expand their lineup with even more variants to offer.

Infiniti recently filed trademarks for G35h, G30t, and G22d, giving us a hint of things to come for its popular model. There’s a good chance that the G will get a model refresh in 2014 and with it should be the debut of the hybrid model G35h. Given that the powertrain has been tested in their M35h model, it would be a natural fit to shoehorn the 3.5-liter V6 into a G body. The M35h already claimed the title of World’s Fastest Hybrid, so a smaller, lighter G35h would probably dethrone it while offering a sportier driving experience.

Our educated guess for the G30t probably hints at a 3.0-liter turbocharged engine which would give it a viable competitor to the popular BMW 335i models. Infiniti isn’t known for having turbocharged powerplants straight from the factory, but Nissan definitely has experience in that department.

As for the G22d, it sounds like a 2.2-liter four-cylinder diesel is in the works for the European market. We strongly doubt we’ll see a diesel-powered G model here in America anytime soon.
