The 2013 Lincoln MKS got its official debut back at the 2011 Los Angeles Auto Show, revealing a ‘new’ design direction for the luxury American automaker.

The revamped sedan may not have been revolutionary, but it was a step towards the new design language that will find its way across all its future models. Lincoln really wants to stress the design evolution, especially in this new commercial for the MKS which reflects back on the past and all the years Lincoln shifted focus on its design.

Interestingly enough the video starts with 1922, when the Ford Motor Company purchased Lincoln, and stops in the mid-1970s when there’s a giant absence for three decades – 30 years that weren’t exactly shining moments for the brand.
