Lamborghini, Reiter Engineering Announce New Gallardo GT3 FL2 Race Car

Lamborghini and Reiter Engineering are teaming up once again on a new Gallardo GT3 race car that will be competing this year and next.

The Lamborghini Gallardo GT3 FL2 will be developed by Reiter Engineering in cooperation with the Italian automaker and will be based on the new 2013 Gallardo model. The new focus on the GT3 FL2 will be for endurance racing and will include “24-hour” brakes, improved engine cooling, and reduced fuel consumption. It will also receive plenty of enhancements in the aerodynamics department including a new front splitter, rear carbon diffuser, and a highly-efficient aero kit. The upgrades to the aero compared to its predecessor aims to reduce weight by at least 55 pounds.

Pricing is steep for the 2013 Gallardo GT3, coming in at $430,500 (€ 320,000) plus any applicable taxes. Deliveries of the new GT3 race car will begin in March in Europe and Asia and will participate in a various of race series including the Blancpain Endurance Series, Asia Le Mans Series, and the Italian GT3 Championship.
