Jaguar will have its first-ever Super Bowl commercial next year on February 2, 2014 and it will feature the F-Type Coupe which is making its official debut at the 2013 Los Angeles Auto Show.

The 30-second spot will pose the question: “Have you ever noticed how in Hollywood movies, all the villains are played by Brits?” and espouses the idea that British characters make convincing and entertaining villains in famous films. For the campaign, the British automaker will use the hashtag #GoodToBeBad for social media.

The Super Bowl ad will feature renowned British actors and is being filmed by Academy Award-winner Tom Hooper in London. Jaguar is the fastest growing car brand in the U.S. this year, with year-to-date sales up 36 percent compared to last year. To kick off the brand’s new campaign, Jaguar has launched an unusual ad that introduces the notion of a British luxury brand as a disruptive player and hints at the British Villain theme in the upcoming Super Bowl ad. The commercial, titled “Disruptor,” aired exclusively on the 2013 British Academy of Film and Television Arts Los Angeles Jaguar Britannia Awards on BBC America in addition to some NFL games.

“The Super Bowl is a perfect advertising platform for Jaguar given our new products, fast growing sales in the U.S. and the renewed interest in British cultural icons,” said Jeff Curry, Brand Vice President of Jaguar North America.
