Lotus has revealed its fastest and most powerful production model ever.

The new Lotus Evora 400 is powered by a supercharged 3.5-liter V6 engine churning 400 hp and 302 lb-ft of torque, which is a big improvement over the previous model’s 345 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque. According to the British automaker, the additional performance comes courtesy of a new supercharger as well as the addition of a new water-to-air intercooler and engine management system. With those figures, Lotus claims the Evora 400 has a top speed of 186 mph and is able to do the 0-60 MPH sprint in just 4.1 seconds. More importantly, other enhancements allow the Evora 400 to lap the Lotus test track six seconds quicker than the outgoing model.

While the overall shape of the Lotus Evora 400 is reminiscent of the current model, the company says that over two-thirds of the Lotus Evora 400 is new, allowing it to be almost 49 lbs lighter.

Braking performance has also been enhanced with more powerful, two-piece, cross-drilled and ventilated brake discs while forged lightweight aluminum wheels (19 inches in the front and 20 inches in the rear) will be standard, paired to Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires.

Now i've been on here before and have posted this same / similar comment other places .... The upper body and roof lines of the evora will match perfectly to a targa body form. Closest comparison shape wise would be be the 4c but the Evora in Targa would beat it hands down in looks and without even discussing driving ability ....

Yes, I would love to see a Targa Evora. It would look very sexy.
