A new report states that Volvo is looking to overhaul its entire lineup with nine new models that are expected to hit the market by 2019.

Top Gear says that the new direction of the brand starts with the recently launched XC90 family crossover. Next year, the Swedish company will release an S90 large sedan and V90 wagon, both of which will likely use the same platform as the crossover.

In 2017, Volvo will unveil its 60 series vehicles, starting with the popular XC60 crossover. That will lead to the next generation S60 and V60. All of these will use a modified platform as the XC90. This will result in smaller vehicles, something that would be sized up against the Audi Q5 and A4. These cars will get the same eight-speed auto as the the XC90, but also be offered with a a manual, and new dual-clutch transmission. The latter of which will be mated with an electric motor to produce a front-drive hybrid.

The report states that 2018 will see the introduction of a new nameplate to the Volvo lineup: the XC40, which would compete against the growing crop of sub-compact luxury crossovers. The Audi Q3 sized vehicle will also spawn sedan and wagon variants called the S40 and V40, all of which will use a new platform. These are expected to get a 1.5-liter three-cylinder engine engine that will make around 170-hp.
