Surprise! The current-generation Rolls-Royce Phantom will bow out with even more special edition models.

It’s no secret that development on the eighth-generation Rolls-Royce Phantom is well underway, considering the British automaker itself revealed earlier this year that it is developing and testing an all-new aluminum architecture. Spy photographers have also caught the 2018 Rolls-Royce Phantom testing, which means the current model is on its way out. So what other way would Rolls-Royce celebrate than to do what it does best and offer more special edition models?

Starting November 2015, the very last Phantom Coupe and Drophead Coupe will be built at Goodwood and those models will not be replaced. As a result, the company will be releasing a collection of 50 unique Phantom Zenith Coupe and Drophead Coupe models to celebrate the end of production for those two models.

The last of the Phantom VII sedans will also be built at the end of this year.

As the first of the special collection models to help bid the current Phantom farewell, the Zenith will include a Tailgate Hosting Area, laser-etched armrests that show the original launch locations of 100EX in Villa D’Este and 101EX in Geneva, bespoke instrument dials and a special treatment for the iconic Spirit of Ecstasy figurine. Each customer will also receive a “money cannot buy” portable memento of his or her purchase.

“As the name promises, Zenith will be the pinnacle; the best of its kind; the highest standard achievable by which everything else is judged,” said Rolls-Royce director of design, Giles Taylor. “Zenith will be the sum of all the best features of Phantom Coupe and Drophead Coupe, with a few surprises added. We expect huge demand for these 50 fine motor cars as we shall not look upon their like again.”
