Jaguar XF Goes Tornado Hunting

Jaguar has teamed up with a US-based tornado chaser, sending him into the thick of things with a new Jaguar XF.

“Tornado Tim” Baker was given an XF for a late season chase that led him on a 2000-mile long expedition across seven different states until he eventually caught up with a category EF 0 (60-70 mph winds) tornado, about two hours outside of Chicago.

“It took us a while to track one down, but when the weather map delivered, the car did too,” said Baker. “The navigation and in-car Wi-Fi, which allowed us to connect our multiple devices, worked brilliantly in the chase. The all-wheel-drive capability was also excellent as we travelled through rain and floods on loose gravel roads,” he said.

Of course Jaguar sent a video crew along for the ride, so you can watch as Tim chases the storm in the new XF.

Power for the car comes from a supercharged 3.0-liter V6 that makes either 340 or 380 horsepower along with 332 lb-ft of torque.
