Volvo plans to begin exporting its long-wheelbase S90 model from China for sale in the United States and Europe.

According to Automotive News Europe, Volvo’s China sales chief made the announcement during the Chengdu Auto Show, though a Volvo spokesman said that no decision on exporting the car has been made.

If the rumor proves true, the long-wheelbase S90 will be exported from China, which is the only market Volvo sells the car. In the U.S. and Europe, it will help Volvo better compete with BMW, Mercedes and Audi, all of which offer long long-wheelbase luxury models.

This will be the second vehicle that Volvo builds in China and exports to the U.S., following the stretched version of the S60.
