Famous American film director, screenwriter, producer, and actor, Martin Scorsese has agreed to to work with Lord Richard Attenborough and Anthony Haas to produce a film titled Silver Ghost. Based on the lives of Lord John Douglas-Scott Montagu, Charles Rolls and Henry Royce it will detail the creation of the world’s most iconic car brand.

Scorsese said, “When I read the story of ‘Silver Ghost’, I was mesmerized. I immediately thought this is a picture that has to be made. I didn’t hesitate for a moment.”

It appears that the movie will revolve around Lord Montagu, his secret love affair with Eleanor Thornton – who inspired the infamous ‘Spirit of Ecstasy’ emblem that sits on every Rolls-Royce hood – and the early beginnings of the Rolls-Royce brand. Silver Ghost‘s screenplay has been written by Sharman Macdonald, Kiera Knightley’s mother, and no actors or actresses are currently linked to the film.

Either way, it should be an interesting portrayal of what Sir Ralph Robins, former chairman of Rolls-Royce calls, “the thrilling and tragic events during which one of the greatest engineering names in the world was created.”
