McLaren to Showcase Second Supercar in Geneva
McLaren Automotive is planning to showcase not one, but two supercars at the Geneva Motor Show next week. And while the second car is far from new, it’s also incredibly cool.
Sharing booth space with the world premiere of the new P1 supercar will be the original McLaren F1, and a very special one at that. Called the F1 XP1 LM OMG FTW (maybe not those last two), it’s a one-off model owned by McLaren and built as a prototype of the F1 LM – of which only five were made.

The F1 LM, it should be known, was built to celebrate the brand’s victory (in dominant style) at the 1995 24 Hours of Le Mans. That year, a McLaren F1 GTR race car claimed the overall victory at the endurance classic, marking the only time an automaker has ever won in its first season. Better yet, subsequent F1 GTRs went on to finish 3rd, 4th, 5th and 12th.
Also of note, the LM cars in many ways are even more spectacular than even their racing counterparts as without race restrictors they make more power, with a total of 680 hp from a 6.1-liter V12, while weighing 132 lbs less.
Finished in the brand’s signature Papaya orange paint, the Geneva Motor Show marks the first time the McLaren F1 XP1 LM has been shown outside of the UK.
