As expected, Swedish automaker Volvo has debuted four 2014 model year vehicles at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show that will be heading to America: S60, S80, XC60, and XC70.

In what is the most extensive development of existing models in Volvo’s history, the revamped models are surprising as it extends across most of the automaker’s lineup.

Starting with the new Volvo S60, the Swedish automaker gave its sedan a more dynamic, yet elegant appearance. The new front design further increases the S60’s road presence, transforming it from mundane commuter sedan to a sportier one. According to Fedde Talsma, Design Director, Exterior, the automaker was thinking of a wolf’s eyes while designing the new headlights. The front end is further accented by a wider grille, daytime running lights, and a new LED light guide on the taillights.

Next on the list to get redesigned is the 2014 Volvo S80, which received a number of new exterior design changes to give it a more sophisticated, yet contemporary look. New front and rear bumpers give the sedan a “stretched” effect, helping it make look wider and longer. Overall, the S80’s changes gives the sedan a more elegant and upmarket feel to the model; according to the automaker, it can be fitted with 19-inch wheels and tires while maintaining a comfortable ride.

As for the automaker’s best-selling model, the XC60, it received a redesigned front what emphasizes a wide, confident look. Restyled with more of an urban twist, Volvo removed all black trim from the vehicle, making it all one, solid shade while the new headlights gives it a “very focused and determined” look according to Talsma. The XC60 also received an overhaul in the interior with new wood inlays, new headliner, textile B-pillars, and silk metal frame surrounds on the air vents and light controls.

Lastly, is the XC70 which was redesigned to “sharp the XC70’s contemporary road presence,” according to Volvo. The front grille was replaced with a bolder, wider proportioned unit while Daytime Running Lights and matte silver touches gives it a more premium feel. The 2014 XC70 will be available with up to 19-inch wheels and tires along with all-wheel drive and optional Hill Descent Control. Improved off-road pieces were also integrated into the 2014 XC70 with new skidplates that protect the vehicle on uneven surfaces. The protective black below the belt line now surrounds the front fog lights and the rear lights have all been redesigned.

Volvo, you've got to give in and curve the XC70's hatch. Just a little, it won't hurt.
