R.Ferri Motorsport Racing has announced that it’ll be competing in this year’s Pirelli World Challenge with a two-car team.

In collaboration with Ferrari, R.Ferri Motorsport Racing will have drivers Anthony Lazzaro and Nick Mancuso behind the wheels of Ferrari 458 GT3 race cars, and will kick off the season at the St. Petersburg Grand Prix on March 30.

R.Ferri Motorsport was originally founded in 1991 and is a professional Canadian racing team headquartered in Toronto, Ontario. While this is the first full season of competition in the Pirelli World Challenge for the team, it also provides technical, racing and logistical support for six Ferrari 458s that compete in the North American Ferrari Challenge.

Lazzaro will be piloting the Ferrari 458 Italia number-61 race car and is a regular with the Ferrari brand in the Grand-Am and American Le Mans series. Nick Mancuso, who will drive the number-16 car, is the son of long time Ferrari Lake Forest Owner and President Rick Mancuso.

“After previously running in the American Le Mans and Grand-Am series, we are excited to run this year in the Pirelli World Challenge Series,” said Remo Ferri, team principal of R.Ferri Motorsport Racing with Ferrari. “This is an ideal series for us to showcase our Canadian motorsports program in North America” said Ferri.”After running the Ferrari 458 GT in the Grand-Am series last year, I feel very good about our cars and running the program under the Canadian Flag.”

AutoGuide will be getting up close and personal with the Ferrari 458 Italia GT3 race cars next week, so stay tuned for more info.
