Rolls-Royce Phantom Limelight Gets Subtle Improvements

This is the Rolls-Royce Phantom Limelight, the latest in the Bespoke Phantom Collection.

Dubbed the Rolls-Royce Phantom Limelight, the latest entry to the company’s series of bespoke models focuses on being “in the limelight.” The name is inspired by the origin of a British invention that has become synonymous with fame over the years. The limelight effect was originally discovered in the 1820s by Sir Goldsworthy Gurney and was used to revolutionize illumination in the theaters of London’s Covent Garden.

How exactly does that translate to a luxury sedan? Well, according to the British automaker, the “Phantom Limelight has thus been conceived as the ultimate travelling companion as its owner moves from major event to momentous occasion, helping them to Prepare, Relax and Arrive for their moment in the limelight in consummate Rolls-Royce luxury.”

The team of engineers and ergonomists at Rolls-Royce worked with medical professionals to determine the optimum seating position that relaxes the body most while in motion. The result is a first-of-a-kind rear seat that reclines the body by a recommended 27 degrees while a new calf rest raises electrically by 68 degrees for support. Further down, a foot rest emerges out of the floor to raise the feet up to 30 degrees.

The Phantom Limelight also has a concealed fragrance holder and a hidden compartment for storing watches. A vanity pouch can also be found in a bottom left pocket to hold credit cards, business cards or makeup.

Another unique feature is a two-tone veneer finish while Piano Seashell will be specific to this collection, applied on the door cappings, blending the veneer with the leather schemes. On the outside is a stealthy, yet elegant Gala Blue finish. The Phantom Limelight will be limited to 25 units worldwide.
