Fans of sexy Japanese rear-wheel drive coupes should prepare themselves, we finally have photos of the new 2017 Infiniti Q60 completely uncovered before its debut at the 2016 Detroit Auto Show.

This pretty red coupe was spotted while filming what looks like a promotional video or photo shoot for the car outside of Las Vegas.

Essentially a two-door version of the Q50, the 2017 Infiniti Q60 will use be available with some new hardware under the hood. Expect to see a 3.0-liter V6 in a range topping model, that will be turbocharged to make 400 hp. For more mainstream models, expect a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that’s borrowed from Mercedes. That four-banger isn’t expected to make much more than 200 hp.

The Q60 should feature a dramatically restyled interior. Expect the same InTouch infotainment system that’s found in the Q50, but the rest of the interior to be sportier in order for the Japanese luxury coupe to compete with the likes of the BMW 4-Series, Mercedes C-Class Coupe and Lexus RC.

Seems the rear exhaust area of the car look quite busy. The car looks fantastic overall and will reserve judgement. But Infiniti is making a a mistake by having a 200 horsepower coupe when they should have at least 300 horsepower in the 4 cylinder engine just like the stalwarts like the ATS Coupe, 4 Series and C Class coupe.

Was not really clear in my post but I meant more than 200 horsepower in the turbo 4 cylinder models not reaching nearly 300 horsepower or pound feet of torque. The ATS Coupe 2.0T comes close to 295 bls feet of torque, while the 4 Series and C Class Coupe is mid pack in the performance. The 4 Series is a little tricky because they have instant torque at a lower RPM from launch and quite possibly understating performance stats.
