Alfa Romeo Stelvio Crossover Slated to Arrive in 2017
Alfa Romeo is working to bring a new crossover to market which will be called the Stelvio.
The news was confirmed by Fiat Chrysler Automobiles CEO Sergio Marchionne while he was on a tour of the plant that will build the crossover and the new Giulia. Production of the new sedan is supposed to start next month, while crossover production is slated to begin late in 2016 with deliveries starting in early 2017.
The Alfa Romeo Stelvio will be built on a modified version of the Giulia’s new platform which will be able to accommodate all-wheel drive and rear-wheel drive along with a range of four cylinder and six cylinder gas and diesel engines.

A high performance Quadrifoglio version of the Stelvio is also said to be in the works, using the same twin-turbo 2.9-liter V6 as the enhanced version of the Giulia.
Alfa is working on a full lineup revamp, though initial plans to rollout eight new models by 2018 have already been delayed, with the brand now saying that its overhaul will be finished by 2020.
