Subaru has revealed a single image of its new limited-run Crosstrek Special Edition.

There will only be 1,500 of these models produced, each one finished in Pure Red. To set them apart on the exterior, this model gets color matching mirrors with integrated turn signals.

Setting apart the interior is red stitching accents, a leather-wrapped shift lever handle, steering wheel and door panels, a red dash inlay and lights that cast a soft red glow.

This model is based on the 2.0i Premium model and comes well appointed.

Standard on special edition models is the All-Weather Package, which includes heated seats, heated exterior mirrors and a windshield wiper de-icer. Other standard equipment includes a moonroof, keyless entry, blind spot detection and rear cross traffic alert.

Inside, the latest version of Subaru’s Starlink infotainment system is fitted, using a 6.2-inch touchscreen.

Power still comes from a 2.0-liter Boxer engine with 148 hp and 145 lb-ft of torque. All special edition models come exclusively with a CVT.

The special edition will be revealed in person later this week at the 2016 Chicago Auto Show. It will hit dealers in Spring of 2016. Pricing was not announced.

Premium models come with cloth seats. A little bright color would take your eyes away from the otherwise cheapie all plastic interior.
