Lincoln MKC Gets a Fresh Face, New Tech for 2019

The smallest vehicle in the Lincoln portfolio has received the automaker’s signature grille, which is joined by redesigned LED headlamps and LED daytime running lights. Out back, the new MKC has gets LED taillamps and a mildly redesigned rear hatch with chrome elements.

Other changes come in the way of additional driver assistance tech such as Pre-Collision Assist with Pedestrian Detection, pedestrian avoidance, automatic emergency braking, Active Park Assist, lane keeping alert with Blind Spot Information and cross-traffic alert. The 2019 MKC also offers the automaker’s Sync infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and AndroidAuto as standard.

Lincoln has developed three new themes for the range-topping MKC Black Label as well. The ‘Modern Heritage’ theme adds White Venetian leather and Argento wood, while the ‘Indulgence’ theme includes materials such as Alcantara, Venetian leather and Ziricote wood. Completing the lineup is the theater-inspired ‘Center Stage’ theme, which includes black Venetian leather, Foxfire red piping, diamond-stitched Alcantara inserts and exotic wood accents.

Adding to the ownership experience of the MKC is the new Lincoln Way app. The smartphone application allows users to lock and unlock their MKC with their smartphone as well as locate the vehicle, schedule engine starts and adjust the climate control. Lincoln’s Pickup and Delivery system is also offered as standard with the MKC, allowing the dealer to pick the vehicle up at an agreed location and take it in for servicing whilst also providing a complimentary loaner vehicle to the owner.

The updated 2019 Lincoln MKC will go on sale in the summer of 2018. Pricing has yet to be announced.
