Pricing for the 2018 Subaru WRX STI Type RA and BRZ tS have been announced.

Limited to just 500 units each, the two models will head to dealerships in spring 2018 with the WRX STI Type RA starting from $49,855 including destination, while the BRZ tS is priced at $34,355.

The Subaru WRX STI Type RA comes standard with a carbon fiber roof panel and no spare tire in the name of saving weight. There’s also a carbon fiber pedastal wing and lightweight 19-inch BBS wheels on all four corners. Under the hood is a 2.5-liter turbocharged Boxer engine providing 310 horsepower, thanks to a new cold air intake and high flow performance exhaust. Helping further increase engine performance are a retuned ECU and stronger pistons. Subaru even gave the six-speed manual transmission a revised third-gear ratio and a short-throw shifter, which also help improve acceleration.

Upgrades to handling include Bilstein STI sport-tuned suspension with special Bilstein dampers for the inverted-strut front suspension and double wishbone rear suspension. On the outside, the limited edition model is easily identified by an exclusive Cherry Blossom Red accent found on the front mesh grille and new rear bumper cover. Those interested in the WRX STI Type RA can choose from WR Blue Pearl, Crystal Black Silica, and Crystal White Pearl.

The Subaru BRZ tS is also tuned by STI, but it isn’t the turbocharged model enthusiasts have been clamoring for. Upgrades to the sports coupe include STI-tuned front and rear SACHS dampers and coil springs, as well as an STI flexible V-brace in the engine compartment. The Japanese automaker also added new draw stiffeners to the chassis and subframe to improve steering response. Unlike the WRX STI Type RA which receives BBS wheels, the BRZ tS comes with STI wheels – but it is the first time the BRZ is equipped with 18-inch rollers from the factory.

Giving the BRZ tS a more aggressive appearance is an exclusive STI carbon fiber rear spoiler, which is manually adjustable to fine tune rear downforce for track driving. There are also STI front, rear, and side underspoilers that help control airflow for better traction and stability. The outside of the BRZ tS also features exclusive Cherry Blossom Red accents around the front grille and unique rear bumper cover. It will also have the same three color choices as the WRX STI Type RA: WR Blue Pearl, Crystal Black Silica, and Crystal White Pearl.
