Mercedes-AMG GT, GLE 550e Recalled for Separate Issues
Mercedes-Benz has announced two recalls, one for the AMG GT and another for the GLE 550e.
The first recall affects all models of the Mercedes-AMG GT from the 2018 model year, and involves an issue with the seat belts. According to the recall notice, the seat belts may bind within the guidance loops, possibly causing slack in the seat belts and increasing the risk of an injury in crash. A total of 1,263 units in the U.S. are affected by the recall and dealers will reconfigure the seat belt guides for free in order to resolve the issue.
The company will begin notifying owners this month, and a second letter will be sent when parts become available, which is currently expected to be in February.

The other recall involves the GLE 550e hybrid crossover from the 2016-2017 model years. A total of 64 units are affected, which have a tire pressure label on the B-pillar with the incorrect seating capacity and front and rear tire dimension information. As a result of the wrong label, the vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 101, “Tire Selection and Rims.” Using the wrong tire sizes on a vehicle can affect the speedometer reading, which can increase the risk of a crash.
The German automaker will notify owners and dealers will inspect the tire pressure label, replacing it as necessary, free of charge.
