The second-generation Kia K900 flagship sedan should debut at the 2018 New York Auto Show.

The Korean automaker has released a teaser image for its next-gen K900, a model that will likely see some changes as it hopes to push stronger sales compared to its predecessor. The Kia K900 was introduced to the U.S. market for the 2015 model year, but it has been on sale in other parts of the world under the K9 or Quoris nameplate since 2013. But the sedan hasn’t quite made the impact in the segment that Kia would like.

Kia’s more recent models have impressed consumers and the media, including the Stinger which was named AutoGuide.com‘s Car of the Year. Don’t be surprised if the K900 sees some significant changes in order to better compete in the luxury segment.

Not much is known about the new model, but it should be longer and sleeker compared to the current offering. Kia is staying relatively quiet, but did say the K900 will pack new technologies aimed at improving safety and giving the driver more confidence behind the wheel. Expect to see some new advanced driver assistance features and maybe even some semi-autonomous technology.

Although some rumors suggest the K900 could debut at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show, it’s more likely it will bow in New York given that the U.S. is a bigger market for the K900. Deliveries are expected to start around the second quarter of 2018, so expect details soon.
