Toyota is recalling 1,730 Camry sedans in the U.S. for having larger pistons in their engines.

According to the Japanese automaker, the affected vehicle’s engines could have pistons larger in diameter than the original specification. The assembly error could cause the sedans to run rough, emit smoke, and create an abnormal sound. In addition, owners will get warning lights on the dash and a possible reduction in power. In extreme cases, the Camry could stall, increasing the risk of an accident.

All affected owners will be notified via first class mail by late May. To resolve the issue, Toyota dealerships will check the production date code of the pistons in the engine, and if the incorrect pistons are found, they will replace the engine free of charge.
