Originally launched in 2014, the Porsche Macan crossover has received a refresh for the 2019 model year.

Making its debut in Shanghai, the Macan gets updated styling changes that are consistent with other Porsche models. Most notable is the three-dimensional LED tail light strip in the rear, while up front there are now standard LED headlights. Looking more carefully at the exterior, it’s overall sportier and more modern, borrowing cues from the 911 sports car and even the 918 Spyder. The front end has a wider appearance, while the rear gives a sleeker impression with its new tail light design.

The cabin sees numerous changes as well, with an optional GT sports steering wheel. The German automaker has expanded the list of options available for the Macan’s interior, including a heated windscreen and an ionizer to improve the air quality of the cabin. Other changes include an 11-inch touchscreen, redesigned and repositioned air vents, as well as new digital functions for the Porsche Communication Management (PCM) system.

That includes the new Traffic Jam Assist with adaptive cruise control, which enables more comfortable and relaxed semi-autonomous driving at speeds up to 37 mph (60 km/h). More importantly, each Macan is now equipped with a Connect Plus module, making every vehicle fully networked as standard.

Porsche says its engineers have also fine tuned the chassis for enhanced neutrality while maintaining stability and improving comfort. Newly developed tires provide even better lateral dynamics for enhanced driving pleasure, while new 20- and 21-inch wheels are available to buyers. Customers can also choose from new exterior includes such as Miami Blue, Mamba Green Metallic, Dolomite Silver Metallic, and Crayon.

Since 2014, Porsche has delivered over 350,000 Macan crossovers, a model that is extremely popular in China with over 100,000 deliveries in the country alone.
