Top 10 Best Used Car Bargains: 2019
Some people will never buy a brand new car, swearing that they can always find a better deal looking for a lightly used one.
Some vehicles have more value on the used market than others, though. While certain cars, trucks, and crossovers hold their value well and won’t be much less expensive on the used market, others absolutely tank in value the minute they are driven off the lot — depreciation makes for some great used car bargains.
Car buying research firm iSeeCars.com recently analyzed over 7 million new and used cars sold from August 2018 to January 2019 and compared the prices of the new cars to their lightly used equivalents. They then identified those vehicles with the highest price differences between new and used.

It’s not clear if iSeeCars’ study compared identical vehicle types with identical equipment, so this study may not be perfect, but it does provide a rough reflection of which cars are great value as lightly used vehicles. Some cars will dip in value more steeply if an all-new version is introduced shortly after as well, which is another factor to consider when viewing this data.

10. Hyundai Accent
A lightly used Hyundai Accent lost an average of -31.0% of its value compared to new versions of the Korean compact, equivalent to $5,136.
9. Kia Optima
The Kia Optima lost -31.3% compared to new examples of the sedan, representing a value difference of $7,574.
8. Hyundai Santa Fe Sport
A lightly used Hyundai Santa Fe Sport lost -31.4% of its value from new, equivalent to $9,368.
7. Nissan Altima
The first non-Korean entry on this list is the Nissan Altima, which lost -32.6% of its value compared to brand new versions, equivalent to $7,984.
6. Infiniti Q50
The first luxury vehicle appearance on this list is the Infiniti Q50, which lost -33.1% of its value compared to new models, equivalent to $4,938.
5. Ford Fusion Hybrid
The Ford Fusion Hybrid is the first electrified vehicle on this list. It lost -34.3% of its value when lightly used compared to new, equivalent to $9,301.

4. Infiniti QX80
The second Infiniti vehicle on this list is the QX80, which loses an average of -34.9% of its value when lightly used compared to new models, equivalent to $26,188.
3. Chevrolet Impala
The first American entry on this list is the Chevrolet Impala, which lost -36.4% of its value when lightly used compared to new, equivalent to $11,837.
2. Kia Sedona
The Kia Sedona loses an average of -37.8% of its value when sold as lightly used compared to new, equivalent to $12,918.
1. Ford Expedition
Falling off a cliff in value on the lightly used market is the Ford Expedition, which can quickly lose -38.5% of its value, according to iSeeCars, equivalent to $24,690.
