Both leaves and temperatures may be falling across large parts of North America but auto sales did the exact opposite last month, increasing by a stellar amount as drivers flocked to showrooms like birds flying south.

When it’s time to purchase a new ride what’s the first place that comes to mind? For most people it’s probably a dealership. But did you know it’s possible to buy a car or truck at Costco? In fact the membership warehouse sold nearly 400,000 vehicles last year.

Whether they deserve it or not, dealerships often have less-than-favorable reputations.

Pickup trucks took the Detroit Auto Show by storm this year, with plenty of surprise debuts. 

You probably loathe car salespeople. Most of us do and in many instances they probably deserve their sullied reputation.

The last few years have been especially fruitful for pickup truck innovation.

A half-ton diesel, eight-speed transmissions, tons of new technology and a full aluminum body are just some of the ways in which these workhorses have been changing recently.

There was a time when pickup trucks weren’t expected to do anything but backbreaking work. Some people think of those as “the good old days,” but I respectfully disagree.

We all know the economy is struggling; the stock market may be up but many Americans are still toughing it out, so it’s no surprise that a lot of people are unable to afford new vehicles.

General Motors has announced a recall that involves 843 of its new 2014 Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra crew cab pickup trucks over issues with the passenger airbags. 

Things are looking up for automakers in the United States. All told sales topped 1.1 million new cars and trucks in November. That’s nearly a 15 percent increase compared to the same month in 2011. Year-to-date sales eclipsed 13 million units, an improvement of almost 14 percent compared to the same time period last year.
