Excited for the new Subaru BRZ and Scion FR-S? We already know how the FR-S performs – read our review here – but up until now, we hadn’t a real clue what its fuel economy would be like.

Official EPA fuel efficiency figures have been posted on fueleconomy.gov, and it appears the 2.0L four-cylinder powered BRZ and FR-S will get 22-mpg city, 30-mpg highway.

Those are the figures for the manual-equipped models, while the automatics should get around 25-mpg city, 34-mpg highway.

Who cares about MPG ... it's a Sports Car! I'll take more power and worse MPG. btw. our Z-06 gets 3.5 mpg Auto crossing in the dry, 4.5 in the wet and 30 mpg on the hwy. Life's Good! First photos of the FR-S auto crossing: http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2314670&page=5

Since my manual was purchased with 6 miles, the computer indicated that the mpg was 8 mpg. Without resetting, and after driving 1100 miles, it shows 30 mpg. I'm impressed.
