Being a British automaker, it’s no surprise that McLaren has a love affair with the Goodwood Festival of Speed, having debuted its MP4-12C and GT3 race car variants at previous events.

So for this year, McLaren will usher out its mildly-updated 2013 MP4-12C model at the Goodwood Festival of Speed that kicks off on June 28. The updated sports car will be accompanied by a special version of its race car as well. Jenson Button, 2009 Formula One World Champion and Vodafone McLaren Mercedes driver, will be piloting the 2013 MP4-12C in the Goodwood Hill Climb.

As we mentioned before, the MP4-12C will see a bump of power to 625-hp – current owners will get a free upgrade – as well as a modified seven-speed SSG transmission. Options and new colors were also added to the 2013 lineup.

The race car will that make a presence at the 2012 Goodwood Festival of Speed is a Union Jack-inspired MP4-12C, spotlighting the British automaker’s support of Britain’s ‘GREAT’ campaigned that was launched by the Prime Minister’s Office and Department for Culture, Media and Sport.
