Whether you call it the Toyota GT 86, the Scion FR-S or the Subaru BRZ, as perfect as this new compact sports car is, if there’s one common request to make it even better, it’s that it could use a little more power.

A possible solution will be showcased at the Goodwood Festival of Speed this weekend. Rather than a turbocharger, or a supercharger, this wild concept car uses both and has been built by Toyota motorsports partner Gazoo Racing.

Using a twincharger system the Gazoo Racing Sport FR Concept ups the small boxer 4-cylinder’s powerplant from 200 hp to an impressive 320 hp and 310 lb-ft of torque.

Of course, being a concept car, it also gets a wild aero kit with a big rear spoiler, a lowered suspension, some more impressive brakes and larger wheels shod in high-performance rubber – another thing the FR-S could use.

Will it ever see production? Likely not, but it’s a good sign that Toyota is at least fiddling with the idea of a more powerful GT 86.
