McLaren‘s dealership in Chicago has commissioned a limited-to-six edition ‘Project Alpha’ MP4-12C model which will boast 616-hp and a price tag of around $335,000.

If you’re near Chi-Town and interested, you may have to act fast. Four of the six MP4-12C Project Alphas are already sold, although it’s possible the dealership will commission more if there’s a demand. What you get is a 2012 model year MP4-12C that boasts all the upgrades coming in the 2013 model year, including the additional horsepower jump to 616-hp. The shift and throttle logic has also been revised, along with a retuned exhaust.

But those changes alone wouldn’t necessarily make for a special edition model – in fact, it would just make for a 2013 MP4-12C model. What the Project Alpha boasts however are plenty of aesthetic modifications. The roof, front splitter, rear deck lid, and inner lips of the wheels have been finished in a gloss black while the rear vents and front fender louvers are in carbon fiber. And of course, there’s plenty of Project Alpha badging throughout the cabin.
