2013 Chrysler Town & Country S Gets Moparized: 2012 LA Auto Show

Who said a minivan had to be boring? Chrysler certainly doesn’t think so, teaming up with Mopar to show off a ‘Moparized’ 2013 Town & Country S at the 2012 Los Angeles Auto Show.

The Chrysler Town & Country is now part of the “S” family of models for the American automaker, adding new exterior and interior accessories to give the minivan a bit more modern style. Powered by a 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine, the 2013 Town & Country features 283 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque, with the powerplant mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. The minivan achieves 17 mpg in the city, and 25 mpg on the highway.

The “S” trim outfits the Town & Country with a black chrome grille combined with blacked-out Chrysler Winged badges in the front and the rear, while the rear step pad also gets a black treatment. “S” model badging is seen throughout the vehicle while 17-inch wheels featuring a polished face and black pockets further accent the exterior. Lastly, blacked-out headlight bezels finish off the package. In addition, the “S” trim features a performance suspension that adds a whole new level of handling dynamics to the minivan.

On the inside, the American automaker started with Black Torino leather seats with an “S” logo embroidered in the seat backs while black Ballistic cloth seat inserts offer a nice contrast in texture. Grey stitching on the seats and the armrests provide a fine detail while Piano Black gloss appliques are seen on the instrument panel and on the spokes of the leather-wrapped steering wheel.

Hanging out alongside the 2013 Town & Country S was a variant courtesy of Mopar, featuring plenty of functional accessories that transforms the family carrier to a true road-trip machine.
