Volvo just released details and images on its face lifted S80 sedan and XC70 crossover, both of which receive similar updates.

All three of the vehicles receive styling updates to bring them closer together in terms of looks. The front end of the trio has been given a long, sloping hood, while the front bumper has been given a new lower grille on the S80. New rectangular daytime running lights have been tacked on to the front of all three models, while the rear ends stay mostly untouched.

On the inside, the S80 uses high-end materials such as Bridge of Weir leather, and offer an “Executive” interior package as well as an “Inscription” package which is a bespoke palette of luxury options.

Technological upgrades include a seven-inch display screen that uses infrared to allow a gloved hand to use it, new internet connectivity, and a new “Thin Film Transistor” crystal display that has three theme settings, Elegance, Eco and Performance. An optional rain sensor now comes with a heated windshield, while paddle shifters and a heated steering wheel have also been added.

Safety, as always for Volvo, is covered by the brand’s IntelliSafe suite of tech, which includes pedestrian detection with full auto brake, road sign information display, and city safe autonomous emergency braking setup.

The cars will debut at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show.
