Acura has just taken the wraps off of the 2013 TL Special Edition, which brings the car some appearance upgrades and a boost in technology.

To set itself apart in the looks department, the TL Special Edition gets 10-spoke, 18-inch alloy wheels, a color-matched deck lid spoiler and trunk-mounted Special Edition badging. Color choices are limited to four options: Bellanova White Pearl, Crystal Black Pearl, Graphite Luster Metallic and Silver Moon Metallic.

On the inside, the leather surfaces get body-color matching contrasting stitching. Tech features include power moonroof, 276-watt audio system with eight speakers, Bluetooth connectivity and a touchscreen in the center stack.

Acura’s keyless entry system is also included with the special edition package, which allows the driver to pull on the front door handle to unlock the car, provided the key is in his or her pocket. Beyond that, the system will recognize whose key is opening the car, and automatically adjust the driver’s seat, steering wheel, outside mirrors, climate control and audio system to that person’s presets.

Power is delivered by a 3.5-liter V6 that produces 280 hp and 254 lb-ft of torque.

Pricing for the TL kicks off at $35,905, with the special edition model coming in at $37,405. At the top end, a near-fully loaded TL carries an MSRP of $45,385.
