2014 Acura MDX Recalled for Loose Bolts

Acura has announced a recall of model year 2014 MDX crossovers due to potential problems with loose propeller shaft bolts.

Up to four bolts that hook up a propeller shaft to a universal joint may not have been tightened properly, and over time can fall out causing the propeller shaft to become disconnected. In this event, the vehicle may lose power, greatly increasing the risk of a crash.

Roughly 19,200 MDXs are affected by the issue, though Honda says there have been no reports of collisions or injuries as a result of the problem.

Acura dealers will inspect the vehicles and make the necessary changes free of charge.
