Even with the crazy expensive Veneno Roadster globally unveiled last week, Lamborghini isn’t forgetting about its affordable models, and our spy photographers managed to grab some pics of one such car, the Gallardo replacement dubbed the Cabrera.

With the aging Gallardo retiring from the Lamborghini lineup, the marquee known for the bull will be introducing the Cabrera to slot in below its Aventador supercar.

These spy photos show a car that’s very near production and undergoing some simple road-testing. While there is still quite a bit of camouflage, the Cabrera still features the basic Lamborghini look: it’s low, wide and down-right mean looking.

The headlights appear to be a nod to the Aventador and Veneno models, with a more swept-back, stealth-fighter look. Around back, and the vehicle sports some massive quad tail-pipes.

It’s believed that the Cabrera will be powered by a 5.2-liter V10 engine, tuned to make about 600-hp. The car will also likely feature a seven-speed dual clutch transmission, which will send power to all four wheels or just the rear wheels depending on the configuration. Lamborghini’s sister brand Audi is rumored to use the same platform in its upcoming 2015 R8.
