The new 2015 Mercedes-Benz C-Class will be launching in North America shortly with C300 4Matic and C400 4Matic variants, but those looking for more performance will have to wait for the C63 AMG variant.

When it arrives, the C63 AMG will be powered by a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine with between 450 and 500 hp. That powerplant will also be found under the hood of various other AMG models and will be mated to a seven-speed automatic that is being carried over from existing models.

Though the new 4.0-liter powerplant will be used in more AMG models, the C63 will be the first to receive it. There are still plenty of question marks left about the new upcoming AMG sedan. For example, it isn’t clear if Mercedes will offer with all- or rear-wheel drive.
