2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Rumored for Detroit Auto Show Debut

Is the SRT brand presenting its answer to the Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 at this year’s Detroit Auto Show?

Rumor has it that a high-performance Challenger SRT variant will make an appearance in Detroit this year, sporting the Hellcat badge. It’s no secret that the SRT brand wants to create a more powerful version of its Challenger to compete with the new Camaro Z/28, and what better place to show it off than at Detroit?

The Challenger Hellcat is rumored to be powered by a 6.2-liter supercharged V8 with power estimated to be around 640 hp. As far as transmissions, a six-speed manual and an eight-speed automatic is expected. Visually, the Challenger SRT Hellcat will be more aggressive with a sportier front bumper, wider fender arches and a new hood.

Check back once the 2014 Detroit Auto Show kicks off to see if SRT brings a surprise to the show.
