If Aston Martin’s wild new DP-100 concept looks a bit unrealistic, that’s because it is.

Rather than a conventional concept car, the brand has no plans to build this wild mid-engine machine. Rather, it’s the latest in a series of virtual creations for the Gran Turismo 6 video game.

Designed over six months by the Aston Martin Design Team, it is powered by a mid-mounted twin-turbo V12 engine making no less than 800-hp and makes use of active aerodynamics!

Not all aspects of the car are virtual, however, with Design Director Marek Reichman commenting that some of the car’s design cues could make it to a production car soon. “As with the CC100 Speedster Concept, many of the design cues visible in DP-100, such as the light blade rear lamps, could also feed through into future sports cars that we’ll launch in the offline world so the importance of this project should not be underestimated,” he said.

Sure, you’ll never be able to get behind the wheel in person, but it’s not all bad news; the car will be available to download for virtual racing starting in July.
