Bentley Still Chewing on Possibility of Smaller Model

Bentley is peering at the possibility of a more petite model for its product portfolio.

Volkswagen Auto Group’s ultra luxury brand envisions a future that includes a massive (and massively expensive) SUV and plug-in hybrid variants of all its models. It isn’t often that the company adds a new product, but it seems that going bigger isn’t the only part of Bentley’s plan. According to Car and Driver, the brand is considering a coupe that would be smaller than the Continental, sized more in line with products like the Porsche 911 and Aston Martin Vantage.

Bentley sales and marketing boss Kevin Rose told Car and Driver of the plans during the press launch event for the Continental GT Speed. In the past, Rose spoke about the possibility of a smaller model for the brand, but said that the company’s choice to build a smaller car – if it decides to build one – wouldn’t necessarily mean a move downmarket.
