Chrysler is trying to keep up with demand for its Ram 1500 EcoDiesel pickup.

The American automaker has announced that it will be boosting production on the Ram 1500 EcoDiesel from 10 percent of the Ram 1500 pickup’s annual production volume to 20 percent, essentially doubling the amount being produced. Though the company didn’t elaborate on actual production figures, it did reveal that nearly 60 percent of all Ram 1500 EcoDiesel deliveries have been conquest sales from other pickup brands such as Ford and General Motors.

Launched earlier this year in February, the Ram 1500 EcoDiesel has become one of Chrysler’s fastest-selling vehicles and its annual output could reach around 70,000 units with this production boost. The increase in EcoDiesel production will be completed by the end of November at both its Mexico and Michigan plants.
