Cadillac is considering adding a convertible model to its lineup.

An image of such a car was shown to hundreds of dealers at a recent event held in Las Vegas by Cadillac’s new global chief Johan de Nysschen. If it does come to fruition, the convertible will be based on the same platform that underpins the ATS and CTS, though it is unclear whether the car would use one of the two nameplates.

A Cadillac spokesman told Automotive News that the brand would “like to introduce an open car to the portfolio at some point,” although “it’s not likely to be one of the near-term portfolio additions.”

Besides the convertible, dealers were also told of plans for a small crossover, a new entry-level sedan that would fit below the ATS and a larger crossover that would slot in between the SRX and Escalade.

The last year Cadillac offered a convertible was 2009 with the XLR (seen above).
