Volvo Debuting Autonomous 'Drive Me' Car in LA

Volvo plans to show off how far it has come with its autonomous driving technologies at the upcoming LA Auto Show.

The Swedish automaker and its CEO, Hakan Samuelsson, will headline the 2014 Los Angeles Auto Show’s Connected Car Expo and will be presenting the company’s Drive Me autonomous vehicle. The concept will showcase autonomous lane following, speed adaptation and merging traffic capabilities. Samuelsson will also share his vision on how he’ll make good on his promise that no one would be killed or seriously injured in a Volvo vehicle by 2020.

Joining Volvo at the Connected Car Expo will be automakers Audi, Ford, Jaguar Land Rover, Hyundai, GM’s OnStar and tech company Nvidia. Ford will be announcing the company’s Car-Connected City App Pursuit finalists while Jaguar Land Rover will be showing off its new technology that will be heading to the British automaker’s vehicles.
