Infiniti Q50 Eau Rouge Plans Called Into Question
Plans to build a production version of the high-horsepower Infiniti Q50 Eau Rouge may not be so stable.
Infiniti’s former CEO and current Cadillac boss, Johan de Nysschen, took to Facebook to share that he, “heard a rumor that Noboru Tateishi is going to cop-out and shelve the Eau Rouge project now that I’m not there to pressure him,” wrote de Nysschen. “Tell any Cadillac or Audi engineer “build me a 560hp sports sedan” and you have to reign them in. At Infiniti, it seems easier to push water uphill.”
Noboru Tateishi is the head of vehicle test technology at the company and needs to green light the project for it to move forward.

The Eau Rouge Concept uses the 3.8-liter twin-turbo V6 from the GT-R, sending 552 hp to all four wheels. A high-power sports sedan is something that both de Nysschen and Andy Palmer, who recently left the company as well, were pushing for at Infiniti.
