Aston Martin is already developing a successor to the current DB9 sports car.

The British automaker was recently caught on camera by AutoGuide.com‘s spy photographers testing a mule for the next-generation DB9. It appears that the test car is a powertrain mule so there isn’t much to see in terms of new design, although it does look slightly wider in the front.

The DB9 successor is expected to make its debut next year, so expect to see full body prototypes that are a bit more exciting later on this year. As we reported earlier, Aston Martin will be sticking to V12 engines for the time being, even once it begins receiving MercedesAMG engines in the future.
