FCA Scraps Summer Shut Down at Several Plants

A number of Fiat Chrysler assembly plants will forgo regular summer shutdowns to keep up with high demand.

Four assembly plants, the Jefferson North plant in Detroit, the Toledo Assembly facility in Ohio along the Saltillo Van and Toluca plants in Mexico will all run continuously this summer, going without a regular two week shut down. A number of other FCA plants, including casting, transmission and engine assembly facilities will also go without a two week break this summer.

The Jeep Grand Cherokee and Dodge Durango are built at Jefferson North, the Jeep Wrangler and Cheorkee are built in Toledo, the Ram ProMaster is assembled in Saltillo Van, while the Dodge Journey and Fiat 500 are built in Toluca.

Other FCA plants will undergo the regular one or two week shutdown for retooling.
