McLaren is looking to expand its lineup even more.

The British automaker recently launched its Sport Series lineup with the addition of the 540C and 570S models, and it’s already reportedly working on the McLaren Gran Turismo, a car designed to more practical and friendlier for daily driving.

According to Automobile, the McLaren Gran Turismo will be unique with an all-glass fixed roof with better rear visibility than existing models. But more importantly, the cabin will focus on a more enjoyable and comfortable driving experience with extra cargo space behind the driver’s headrest. As for its design, it’ll be more understated than the 570S and the publication is saying it should be the best-looking model in the lineup.

Expected to be more expensive than the 570S, the McLaren Gran Turismo will be powered by the same 3.8-liter twin-turbo V8 found across most of McLaren’s models, providing around the same 562 hp as the 570S.

The McLaren Gran Turismo should make an appearance in concept form by next year at a major auto show and considering it’ll share most of its major components with existing models, development won’t take as long as an all-new car. As for production, McLaren will gauge interest at auto shows before giving it the green light.
