Ford is hopping on the luxury pickup truck bandwagon.

Being billed as the “most advanced and luxurious truck ever” by the American automaker, the 2016 Ford F-150 Limited will be the new range-topping model in the F-150 lineup when it goes on sale this winter. Giving the exterior a more premium treatment are exclusive 22-inch polished aluminum wheels along with raised dimensional Limited lettering on the hood.

The grille is also unique to the model while the rear tailgate gets a satin-finished chrome badge. In addition, the chrome front bumper has body-color end caps while the rear bumper is paint-matched to the rest of the truck. Tying the side of the truck together are bright belt moldings and minor accents include satin-chrome door handles and a chrome exhaust tip.

Standard equipment on the F-150 Limited include BLIS with cross-traffic alert, chrome front tow hooks on the 4×4 models, panoramic vista roof, power-deployable running boards, quad-beam LED headlights, remote start and tailgate release, as well as an integrated trailer brake controller. Available as an option is a technology package that adds a lane-keeping system, 360-degree camera system and dynamic trailer hitch assist.

On the inside, the luxury pickup features heated and cooled black and Mojave leather front seats that are unique in design with Limited badging, 10-way power adjustment and class-exclusive multicontour massaging. Also included are heated rear seats and SYNC 3 with AppLink. That’s not all, as the F-150 Limited also receives a laser-engraved VIN plate on the center console lid with the vehicle’s production number, while the front and rear floor mats, instrument cluster face, genuine fiddleback eucalyptus, aluminum interior accents and scuff plates with ice blue backlighting are unique to the model.

Powering the F-150 Limited is a 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 engine with 365 hp and 420 lb-ft of torque while returning 17 mpg in the city and 24 mpg on the highway for a 20-mpg combined rating. The engine is paired to a six-speed automatic transmission.

The 2016 Ford F-150 Limited will be available in Shadow Black, Magnetic, Blue Jeans and White Platinum Metallic tri-coat. Pricing is expected to be announced closer to the on-sale date this winter.

“The F-150 Limited sets a new bar for what discerning customers should expect in a high-end truck,” said Raj Nair, Ford group vice president, Global Product Development. “We’re adding segment-exclusive technology, and features that improve productivity, convenience and capability with distinctive style.”
