The next-generation 2017 Audi S4 has been spied testing fully exposed in the Alps.

Now that the new Audi A4 has been unveiled, there aren’t a lot of surprises left for the high-performance S4 to conceal. Similar to previous generations of the S4, the sedan will get a more aggressive front end with larger air intakes, wider side skirts and a quad-tip exhaust system in the rear. The German automaker hasn’t confirmed what will power the new 2017 Audi S4, but the company will likely get rid of the current supercharged engine with 333 hp for a new turbocharged V6 mill producing around 340 to 350 hp.

The model will benefit most from a new lightweight platform, which helps the A4 shed about 200 pounds. Expect the S4 to get a similar treatment in terms of weight savings along with a slightly more powerful and fuel efficient engine.

The 2017 Audi S4 is expected to debut later this month at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show. Stay tuned to AutoGuide.com as we’ll be reporting live from the show floor in Germany.
