One of the bigger surprises at the 2015 L.A. Auto Show was the debut of the redesigned 2017 Lincoln MKZ.

The American automaker took everything good from the Continental concept and applied it to the new MKZ, previewing a new design direction for Lincoln that will likely head to other models. Up front is an all-new grille design with the split-wing style tossed out in exchange for a rectangular mesh grille. In addition, Lincoln has given the new MKZ adaptive LED headlights.

Buyers get to choose from two different powerplants for the 2017 Lincoln MKZ: a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 with 400 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque with all-wheel drive and torque vectoring or a 2.0-liter four-cylinder with 245 hp and front-wheel drive.

The sedan will launch in summer 2016, so to tide you over check out AutoGuide.com‘s first look video below.
