The next-generation Kia Cadenza is being previewed in new sketches.

The current Cadenza model has been in production since 2010, although it didn’t arrive in North America until 2013. Based on the sketches the Korean automaker has released, the next-generation Cadenza will get some styling influence from the new Optima and other recent Kia concepts such as the Sportspace. Inside, Kia is going for a more upscale approach as it has with all its models, highlighted by a long, horizontal dash and an overall clean design. Kia said that the interior is inspired by European tastes and hopes the new cabin sets a new standard for luxury and refinement in its class.

According to Kia, the next-generation Cadenza “will set new benchmarks for cutting-edge design, interior quality and contemporary luxury when it goes on sale in overseas markets in 2016.” In describing the next-generation sedan, Kia notes that it will feature a bold reinterpretation of the current model’s design, boasting a long hood, wider and lower stance as well as sharper styling lines.

Expect the next-generation Kia Cadenza to debut sometime next year.
